Our Clinic History

Our Story

Amped Physiotherapy first opened its doors in 2009 as Momentum Physiotherapy, a small clinic in Riverside South. Founded by Jordan Burgess, the clinic was built on the belief that high-quality physiotherapy should be accessible outside of Ottawa’s downtown core. His mission was to provide an alternative to the “standard clinic model” and deliver care that truly made a difference in the health and lives of his community.

As the clinic grew, Jordan and his team recognized a common challenge: athletes, parents, and active adults were often limited not just by injuries, but by the messages they received from health professionals, coaches, and trainers. In 2016, to address this lack of clarity in how to approach rehabilitation in an active population, Jordan partnered with Andrew Creese to create Amped Sports Lab. With this evolution, Momentum Physiotherapy became Amped Physiotherapy—a space dedicated to helping everyone perform at their best through evidence-based care and education.

The Evolution

Amped Physiotherapy’s treatment approach combines manual therapy, movement and exercise, combined with growth and development principles, exercise physiology, and motor learning to create a program that promotes sustainable levels of exercise and activity and minimizing risk of injury . By blending this foundation with expertise in the demands of sport participation, physiotherapy intervention, and strength and conditioning, we help athletes and active adults achieve their goals—whether in the clinic, the gym, or on the ice.

What We Do

While our team is well-known for treating hockey-related injuries, we help individuals overcome challenges that limit all sorts of activities – from golf, swimming, and CrossFit to running or even walking the dog.
